Risks and responsibility

Our annual risk assessment per country and supplier, the regions where we produce and the risk areas we focus on.

01

Risk assessment

Every year we carry out a risk assessment per country and per supplier. By mapping and prioritising risks throughout the entire supply chain, we draw up targeted action plans for continuous improvement in consultation with our partners.

02

Our regions

Our production is concentrated in areas where we are closely involved in the production process. We have transparently mapped our entire supply chain in order to gain insight into the origin of our materials and the working conditions in:

  • China: in the provinces of Zhejiang, Shandong, Anhui, Jiangsu and Hebei.
  • Pakistan: in the provinces of Punjab and Sindh.

We identify risks not only on the basis of data and audit reports, but through frequent on-site visits by our management and intensive cooperation with our production sites.

Identified risk areas

1. Vulnerable groups
In our production countries we focus on protecting vulnerable groups, with specific attention to:

  • Women: promoting gender equality, health and safety in the workplace.
  • Children and young workers: strict prevention of child labour and monitoring of working hours.
  • Ethnic and religious minorities: safeguarding equal opportunities and cultural awareness.

2. Fair wages
We strive to ensure that workers and their families maintain a decent standard of living. We do this by:

  • accurately mapping the wage gap relative to living wages;
  • facilitating processes that work towards closing this gap.

3. Dialogue
A safe working environment begins with open dialogue. We support our suppliers in drawing up and implementing accessible complaints procedures, so that workers can voice their concerns safely.

4. Environmental impact
We take our responsibility in handling resources carefully. By committing to certified materials and sustainable production processes, we reduce our ecological footprint. Kessels B.V. is OCS and GRS certified.

5. Commitment
We safeguard these standards through:

  • a strict selection process for suppliers and a transparent purchasing policy;
  • entering into long-term partnerships based on continuous improvement;
  • regular follow-up by recognised audit bodies and our local agents;
  • direct involvement of our management through company visits.

We remain fully committed to safeguarding working conditions and to fulfilling our social responsibility. Through a careful purchasing policy and close contact with our business partners, we work step by step towards a more sustainable and responsible production chain, focusing on continuous improvement and transparency.
